How has Epsilica Consulting helped members of the East Midlands Region Framework agreement?

Epsilica Consulting has helped a number of members to meet their obligations under Gershon:

A County Council that wanted to maximise the benefits of IT enabled change across the organisation by improving the management of their project portfolio. We developed and implemented a project prioritisation process, refreshed and reinforced programme and project management methods across the IT department and provided programme management resource for key IT infrastructure replacement projects.

A County Council that wanted to deliver a number of key People Strategy outcomes, including the achievement of Investors in People recognition. We were engaged to provide programme and project management services to ensure delivery of the outcomes by the desired target date. Key to success was the provision of business change management skills, and the transfer of those skills into the organisation. This included the creation of ?Good Practice? guides as a set of reference documents for managers who become involved in change projects.

A unitary authority wanted to improve their project management processes, but were struggling to embed the changes within the organisation. Projects were running over time, over budget and the desired benefits were not being realised. The senior management board had no overview of the progress and value of the whole portfolio of projects and therefore were unable to prioritise their limited resources to focus on those projects that were aiming to meet key corporate objectives. We worked with the board and over 850 staff at all levels to create new programme and project management policies, strategies, processes and training, leading to a dramatic improvement in corporate governance, as well as increased capability and capacity. We introduced the board to Portfolio Management, embedding a process which provided them with the right sort of information to make key strategic decisions. We developed and implemented a simple project gateway process which provided the right level of governance at key stages throughout a project?s lifecycle. We also developed a Benefits Realisation Management process which ensured that all benefits were identified, analysed, tracked and implemented. We also completely re-wrote their Programme and Project Management policy and processes, tailored to fit their particular needs. Most importantly, we involved all of their staff all of the time, ensuring they understood why change was needed, winning their confidence and providing them with the necessary capability through knowledge transfer, workshops and directed training.
